Film Screening & Discussion on 1934 Strikes — Friday, 8/24

One Day After July
Join us for a discussion of local labor history

Friday, August 24th, 7 – 9 pm
Minnehaha Free Space
3747 Minnehaha Ave., Minneapolis MN 55406

Join us for a film screening of Labor’s Turning Point, the story of the strikes that helped turn the tide during the previous depression, and a discussion of then and now that will include local labor historian Peter Rachleff.

Why did Minneapolis Police recently honor one of the businessmen who attacked the strikers? Why are authorities everwhere so adamant that people not gather in the streets and parks? Why is this history hidden from us? What lessons can we use in our future struggles?
