Performance Mondays: Open Mic & Movies in February

Feb. 4 – Open Mic  Night

6:30 Potluck
7:30 to 9:00 Performances

Come to our monthly open mic night.  All are welcome to perform spoken word, musical pieces, poetry, book readings, dance, and more. Arrive early for the potluck at 6:30, or later for the performances. Remember, the Minnehaha Free Space is a sober space.

As Luke trains with Master Yoda to become a Jedi Knight, his friends evade the Imperial fleet under the command of Darth Vader who is obsessed with turning Skywalker to the Dark Side of the Force.  Join us for this pre-digital version of the film.

Centuries ago, in what would become the Canadian Arctic, Atuat is promised to the malevolent Oki, son of the leader of their tribe. But Atuat loves the good-natured Atanarjuat, who ultimately finds a way to marry her. Oki’s sister, Puja also fancies Atanarjuat, and when she causes strife between him and his brother Amaqjuaq, Oki seizes the opportunity to wreak a terrible revenge on Atanarjuat.

Coraline

When Coraline moves to an old house, she feels bored and neglected by her parents.  She finds a hidden door with a bricked up passage. During the night, she crosses the passage and finds a parallel world where everybody has buttons instead of eyes, with caring parents and all her dreams coming true. When the Other Mother invites Coraline to stay in her world forever, the girl refuses and finds that the alternate reality where she is trapped is only a trick to lure her.
