What happens when the techniques of counterinsurgency, developed to
squash small skirmishes and guerrilla wars on the border of Empire,
blend into the state’s apparatus for domestic policing? In “Life During Wartime,” writers examine the application of domestic counterinsurgency tactics within the United States, and seek to equip the left with a more nuanced understanding of state repression – and how to fight back.
Join us for a panel discussion including book contributors and local
activists dealing with state repression from multiple vantage points.
Panelists will include:
*Kristian Williams, editor and Portland-based activist
*Luce Guillén-Givins, local contributor and activist
*Betsy Raasch-Gilman, local activist
*And one of the Anti-War 23, local anti-war and international solidarity activists currently targeted by a federal investigation because of their work
