Friday, August 21st from 6-8pm. Dinner provided!
Banji is back to talk about two topics of interest in the month of August: ethnicity (August 7), and sundown towns (August 21).
A sundown town is an intentionally all white town where residents take steps to exclude black people. The term “sundown” comes from signs that were posted in many cases warning that black individuals must leave the town by sundown.
Sundown towns are a part of the history of this region.
Kids are welcome! A play room is available. Bathrooms are gender-neutral, and there is one that is disability accessible. Email radspacetc@riseup.net to request ASL or other disability accommodations.
