The Minnehaha Free Space is located at 3747 Minnehaha Avenue in south Minneapolis, just off E. 38th Street, in the IUE-CWA union building.

Transit: From downtown Minneapolis and Bloomington, the #55/Hiawatha Ave. Light Rail line stops a quarter mile away at 38th Street Station.  By bus, Metro Transit Route #7 (from North Minneapolis, Downtown, and the West Bank, along Minnehaha Avenue to 46th Street Station) and well as Route #23 (from Highland Park in St. Paul along 38th Street to Uptown Station) both stop on our corner at 38th and Minnehaha.  For schedules and fares, visit metrotransit.org.

Biking: Biking to the Minnehaha Free Space is easy!  A bike lane runs along Minnehaha Avenue, and we’re close to the Midtown Greenway (get off at Minnehaha) and the RiverLake Greenway bike boulevard, which runs along 40th/42nd Streets.

Parking:  Our building has 6 parking spots available in back, accessible via 34th Avenue. (Do not use the spots marked for the American Legion, or the parking lots on Minnehaha – they’re not ours.)  In front of the space along Minnehaha Avenue, parking is one hour only from 8am–6pm; in the evening and on sidestreets, it’s unlimited.

Driving From I-94: Take Exit 235A to 25th Avenue and turn south on 25th.  25th Avenue will immediately turn into 26th Avenue. After about 1 mile, 26th Avenue will merge with and become Minnehaha Avenue.  Continue south about another mile to 38th Street; the Free Space is on the left just before you reach 38th.

Driving from I-35W: Take Exit 14 to E. 36th Street and turn east on 36th. Continue 10 blocks on 36th until you reach Chicago Avenue and turn right.  After 2 blocks, turn left on E. 38th Street.  Take 38th almost 2 miles; you’ll cross Hiawatha Avenue (Hwy. 55) and railroad tracks just before you reach Minnehaha Avenue.  Turn left on Minnehaha and you’ll see the Free Space immediately on the right.
